DSL service speeds are distance sensitive. The DSL service you get depends on how close you are to their central office. With Time Warner Cable Business Class, that does not matter. You will be able to get the product you have purchased, no matter how far away you are from Time Warner Cable's offices. Installation with DSL also takes several weeks or months to get installed. Time Warner Cable Business Class can be installed within five business days at a serviceable address. With DSL, you could pay hundreds of dollars for installation alone.

One of our biggest benefits is reliability. Time Warner Cable Business Class Internet solutions are delivered over Time Warner Cable's proven, dependable fiber-optic network. Frankly, our technology is superior to DSL's. Cable modem-based high speed Internet access is less complex than DSL or a T1 line, easier and less costly to expand, and it provides the fastest speed at the best value for your business dollar. In addition, with the financial backing and stability of AOL Time Warner behind us, you can be assured that we are here to stay.

Technology
The platform for Time Warner Cable Business Class is the Time Warner Cable television network, which has been upgraded with fiber optics. This Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) architecture combines the enhanced reliability and capacity of fiber optics with the broadband coaxial network.

A Time Warner Cable Business Class server complex located in our Network Operations Center receives data from the Internet through multiple high-speed connections. The server complex distributes the data first to regional hubs and then to neighborhood nodes before it comes to end users.

Our first-of-its-kind HFC network links to the end user's personal computer via a cable modem utilizing TCP/IP protocols. A single modem can support multiple PC's and uses a standard 10-base-T Ethernet interface.

DSL is delivered via standard telephone lines. Depending on the distance of your home from the telephone company's central office, speed, quality, and reliability of data transmission may be diminished.

Speed
Time Warner Cable Business Class customers can expect speeds to range from 3Mbps to 6Mbps (megabits per second). The speed of DSL depends on how close you live to their central office, and the quality of your phone lines.

Modem
Most cable and DSL service providers allow customers to buy or lease a modem. Time Warner Cable Business Class furnishes its subscribers a high-speed cable modem to use FREE OF CHARGE. Another financial benefit of Time Warner Cable Business Class is that we are our own Internet Service Provider; with the phone company, you will pay extra for your ISP, with Time Warner Cable Business Class, it is included in the cost.
